Connor is 3 weeks old today! SO crazy how fast that happened!
 Pretty soon he will be standing up...like in the picture!

We're still alive over here. Brandon is recovering from his knee surgery. He had a torn meniscus and some loose cartlidge. Yesterday was pretty painful for him. Today will be better!

Connor went to the doctor yesterday....just a check up. He has gained 15 ounces since birth. I need to take new pictures of him.

Yesterday was Kaitlyn's last day of school! It's hard to believe she'll be in second grade! She ended up being the top reader of her class. I hate to brag...but the girl LOVES to read. She's at a 4th grade reading level. When I looked through her writting journal, her goal for the 1st grade was to learn to read long books...and she has reached that goal! (so proud of you Miss Kaity-lou!) She now reads chapter books. I bought her some Judy Blume books (the "Fudge" series) and like her momma, she wants to stay up reading at night. She told me that she didn't do so good with her math. I informed her that an overall 99% IS GOOD! :)

I am doing good....just gotta "Keep on keeping on!" You know how it is...adjusting to a "new normal". I have to say my biggest complaint is how I am too small for maternity clothes but still look pregnant. I hate to throw out actual numbers....but I will for the sake of me being able to properly complain! It is normal for me to gain 50 pounds during my pregnancies. I started out this time weighing 10 pounds more than I have with my others. (I will spare you actual figures) All this wouldn't bother me if I didn't HAVE to leave my house....and if people didn't HAVE to ask questions like, "When is your baby due?" when he is already 2 weeks old. I go through this every time...and every time I tell myself that the weight is temporary....and every time I get discouraged by the way I look. Oh well.
ANYHOW!!!!!!! besides what I just gripped about, things are going great! Family has brought us dinner this week and it has been wonderful not only to try  new things but to not have to worry about making dinner. Next week when I am "on my own" will be the real test! (my mom was here for 10 days after Connor was born)  We just feel very lucky and blessed to have so many people looking out for us! Brandon's mom has baby sat the kids (and Brandon) more times in the past few weeks than I can count! (she took him for his surgery and then came over to stay with him and the 2 boys while Adelin and I went to Kaitlyn's open house on Thursday)

I better go enjoy another windy day!

Having a newborn really makes you value your time! I am sitting here thinking, "I shouldn't be on the computer...I should go take a shower right now because I need to feed the baby in 45 minutes....". Brandon has him right now...and he's not being fussy....so I have no need to feel guilty. Brandon will be home this whole week! (SO excited for that! I love to hang out with him.) Brandon is also having his knee surgery this Thursday morning. He's been in pain long enough...poor guy.

So, I had to blog about some things.

My kids are getting a little education in lactation. (Not formally) Adelin who likes to wear a swim suit under her clothes was found by Brandon with baby wipes down the front of her suit. He thought she was "stuffing her bra"....but she informed him that they were her nursing pads! Later, we were playing a card game and Adelin said, "My chest isn't growing". (I have thought that many times about myself....but not as a 4 year old!) I told her that if she's lucky, it will....someday. (Maybe she really was "stuffing her bra" earlier?)

Alright, I better go take a shower.

8 pounds 0 ounces. 21 inches long. Chubby cheeks dark hair. Born 5:30 pm May 5th. Jennifer and Connor are doing great.

I have to say, I like the picture I took of me best...even though you can see all the little finger prints on the mirrow...you can't see my double chin! Brandon took the other one! I think I have been in denial about the whole double chin thing...but that picture is proof! I doesn't help that he was sitting down and I was standing up either. An aerial shot would have been best! :)

So...I have 3 more days until I am induced. I am still hoping to go into labor on my own. It's just so much easier that way!

You all missed out on my amazing cinnamon rolls tonight. I ain't braggin'...just happy that they turned out! I finally found a good+easy recipe! This is my second time making homemade cinnamon rolls...and this time they were SO good! (last time they were good...just small and not so fluffy...these were big and soft and yummy!) ANYHOW.... I got the recipe from one of my Laurel's. She came over Wednesday and we made rolls together. She promised that the recipe was easy and didn't take forever to make. Well she was right...and the rolls were yummy...and since they turned out so great I used that recipe for cinnamon rolls.

I am going to put the recipe on Angela's Cooking Blog...which I just realized I don't have a link to on here. It's a fun way to share recipes. Angela made me an author too...so we don't have to sit on the phone and try to write down ingredients while rustling kids! It's great! So...anyhow....by the time you read this...I will have added the link...so, go there if you're in the mood for food! :)
