The kids had been in bed for a while. Well....sort of. Adelin gets out of her bed at least 15 times to tell us that she, "Can't fall asleep". (She's who this story is about).
I had taken a shower and was feeling nice, relaxed and ready for bed. I went in to check on my little sleepless angel. She asked me to help her close her eyes.
I knelt by her bed and rubbed her eyes while telling her to try to make up a picture in her head.
"Imagine a big tree with lots of green leaves. There's green grass and flowers are growing in the grass. The flowers have litle lady bugs on them."
(Adelin intergets) "Are they dancing?"
(Me again) "Yes, they are dancing with the crickets and the butterflies...and the sky is blue with white fluffy clouds. The sun is shining and the birds are flying way up high." (I should mentioned...it snowed about a inch last night).
(Adelin again....in a relaxed voice) "You can go now mom"
I slowly get up and as I walk to the door (thinking "finally she's going to fall asleep") she says in a sweet voice...
"Mommy?"
"What?"
"Did you brush your teeth tonight?
"Yes honey, I did."
"Well, your breath still smells stinky".
"Thank you Addie, good night".
.........I had to laugh......
.....and she had to get out of bed 15 more times.

Family and raising children sites: (just click on them)
"You Can Do This" site
Real Families Real Answers site
I was watching BYUTV the other morning. I don't know why because I rarely watch TV (okay...I still DVR "Little People Big World" and "Biggest Loser"...those are "my" shows)....ANYHOW...I happened to turn on the TV and was watching the end of an episode of "Real Famlies, Real Answers". It was so good. It was talking about parents being "emotional coaches" for their kids. I didn't get to watch the whole show, so today I had a minute to try to find something about it online. I found these two sites. I haven't spent a lot of time looking at them....but I think they will make good reference material!
....just thought I'd share! :)

...just thought I'd let ya'll know....since I just KNOW you're waiting on pins and needles...
Connor and I are still together...he's still in there... rearranging my internal organs to make himself all comfy-cozy. (At least one of us gets to be comfortable.)
I feel nauseous. Could be that nasty excuse for pizza (Totino's) I ate (and fed the kids) for lunch.
.......We're scheduled to be induced on May 3rd....but will probably have to change the date due to Brandon's work schedule...........hoping to go into labor before than anyways.
........my cousin is having her baby any day now...a 'heart baby'....they aren't sure how things are going to go. Keep Carinne and her family in your prayers....along with Little Mister Mason who had a great heart biopsy....his rejection levels are down! (yay!)
And maybe pray for me and Mr. Connor....don't wanna sound selfish...but it would be nice. :)
***later***
New date: May 6th
~I accidently highlighted this post...does anyone know how to reverse that???

My super fun friend Heidi over at Mellow Yellow Decor is doing a give-away of vinyl lettering! (Who doesn't LOVE vinyl?) I hate to tell you about it...because that lowers my chances of winning....BUT....oh well! Go visit her blog and tell me if you win!

I have 19 days until my due date? How did that happen?
Physically, I am SO ready for this guy to be born already! Mentally? Emotionaly?....not too sure about that. (but are you ever?) :)
Last week I got all of Connors clothes (Weston's old ones mostly) out, washed and tucked away in his drawers. It was fun! I have a few more things to get ready, like cleaning up the infant seat and swing....and packing a couple more things into my hospital bag...but otherwise, I got a new tin of Bag Balm and I am set to go! {really...Bag Balm (pick some up at your local feed store) is the best thing since sliced bread!.....I stole that line from an old man I sold a pair of shoes to back in my 'Famous Footwear' days....he told me that "Velcro is the best thing since sliced bread!" lol!}
P.S. Bag Balm is great for lots of things: baby bummies, chap lips, cracked heels and hands, and other ouchies including sore cow utters (teats)! It lasts FOREVER too....my last tin lasted me since Adelin was born and I used it often....but never on a cow :)

just a little f.y.i.
Little Mason is having some set backs with is angel heart. Go read about him.
Paul Cardall's most recent post (he has a donor heart) is very uplifting. Go read it.
Something else that lifted me up today was in Mosiah 15: 2-12 (excerpts)
"...and when we shall see Him there is no beauty that we should desire Him...Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows...and with His stripes we are healed..."
I thought about there being "no beauty that we should desire". When we see Christ through our spiritual eyes (realize that we can only make it with His help...)...we will see all that we need...no matter what that is. And that is the most beautiful thing ever.
Happy Monday you all!
